New York City is one of the most fashionable places in America, making it a haven for fashionistas from all over the world. While there is of course a more casual side to any city of this size, plenty of New Yorkers somehow manage to look effortlessly chic even when they're just grabbing something from a local bodega. That being said, there are quite a few places in the Big Apple where a more high-end approach is necessary.

Most fashionable places in new york city:
Here is our guide for what to wear at seven of the most fashionable places in this most stylish of cities.

1. Broadway Theater

It’s no longer expected for one to dress one's very best at a Broadway performance. For the most part, audience members can get away with wearing casual clothing (jeans or pants and tops with some outerwear is perhaps the prevailing look). But for those who enjoy fashion, going to a show is an excuse to dress up, and there are plenty of New Yorkers and tourists alike who still do it. To embody the timeless elegance of Broadway theater, you might consider putting on a full-length silk black dress, a pair of matching stilettos, and a beautiful necklace of your choosing. It's always nice to sparkle a little bit at a Broadway show!

2. Andrea Rosen Gallery

The Andrea Rosen Gallery showcases some of the best contemporary art pieces in all of New York,
including rotating exhibitions. When visiting the gallery, you need to make sure you look both artistic and sophisticated. We'd suggest opting for a black linen dress, strappy sandals, and some red lipstick. Another option would be a white button-down shirt, smart black slacks, and black loafers.

3. Bemelmans Bar

This Art-deco style bar, located in the Carlyle Hotel, has been featured in various movies and television shows including The Sex and the City Movie. For this reason, you may want to let your inner Carrie Bradshaw shine if you decide to stop by for a drink. It's an elegant, one-of-a-kind venue (
where the genteels meet for cocktails, as one write-up put it) where wearing something that pays homage to the beloved columnist’s iconic tutus won't look out of place.

4. Barawine

Barawine Harlem is a chic brunch spot. And to get the most out of it, you can enjoy the restaurant's signature breakfast wrap in something just as stylish as the trendy restaurant itself. Pair black jeans with a black turtleneck and a leather jacket, for instance, and you'll fit your surroundings perfectly. Accessorize the look with a dainty silver necklace and a mini cross-body bag.

5. Yankee Stadium Luxury Suites

Count on New York to turn sporting events into fancy occasions. In fact, this selection isn't alone in this regard; the U.S. Open and Barclays Center also have their stylish sides. But nothing beats "new" Yankee Stadium's luxury suites for sports-related style. It's a treat to watch the baseball from this vantage point.
New Jersey's online sports betting markets have the Yankees with decent odds at a World Series in 2019, and will likely peg them as a 2020 favorite as well. But the suites are also just fun to enjoy. They're fancy, private spectator areas with incredible views of the field, food and drink on hand, and VIPs walking by. You don't have do dress up, but showing some Yankee pride with a blue-and-white dress and suitable heels would be the way to go!

6. The Metropolitan Museum of Art Roof Garden Café and Martini Bar

Now you don’t need to
wear a ridiculously tight corset a la Kim Kardashian in order to enjoy the Metropolitan Museum of Art. You can still enjoy the venue with a stylish eye though. After exploring the museum, check out its amazing Roof Garden Café and Martini Bar. There you can turn heads by wearing a plunging green dress, gold hoop earrings, and leopard-print heels (which may sound specific, but would be flat-out perfect!).

7. Fabulous Fanny's

Fabulous Fanny’s is definitely an eccentric place. The store sells vintage-inspired eyewear. While it doesn’t at first seem like a place where you necessarily need to dress your best, though, it can be fun to try to match the boutique’s quirky atmosphere. A coral waistcoat and matching shorts may be the perfect look.
