Success is attractive but its beginning is always filled with ugly experiences. This ugly experience is what Eduard Soponar turned into a success story that is inspiring to any young person trying to prove critics wrong. He rose in 3 years from being called an ugly man by a director in a modeling agency to founding an agency that would become the best-rated modeling agency in Alberta in 2020.
Eduard Soponar founded Monica Model Management after four years of a professional modeling career. He started his career in Calgary before traveling to Europe to seek more opportunities. While in Europe, he discovered that some things were missing in the industry. The industry lacked trust and honesty. Besides, the welfare of models was not a priority for most of the agencies he worked with. Instead of running away and blame the industry for being unfriendly to rising stars, he discovered a purpose and embarked on fulfilling it. This is what led to the founding of Monica Model Management (named after his mother – a single mom who worked tirelessly to support the family and always encouraged Eduard to pursue his dreams).
Eduard Soponar wanted to create a community and not just a modeling agency. He wanted a place with a value system that is all-inclusive. That is, the welfare of each member of the community is a priority and everybody is giving an equal platform to prove his or her worth without being discouraged. Monica Model Management was to be the platform Eduard didn't have when he began his modeling career.
Starting such a lifelong project was very challenging. Particularly since the bigwigs in the industry saw him as a threat. But so far, all the challenges have served as a means to learn and grow. Most importantly, he learned that people care less about others. Their concern is more about using and dumping them. Presently, he is on the mission to create a new narrative and the recognition Monica Model Management has received in 2020 is a testament to what a group of people who are treated with courtesy and respect can achieve in very little time.
