California’s Fashion Pulse: From Global Icons to Rising Local Talent

California’s fashion landscape pulses with energy, hosting dazzling runway events, attracting world-renowned designers, and nurturing a vibrant community of talent. From San Francisco to Los Angeles, the Golden State blends heritage, innovation, and style - and Irina Lanskaia is present at every significant moment, elevating designers’ collections with confidence, poise, and artistry.

One standout collaboration was with Brandin Vaughn, celebrated for blending fashion with performance art and creating iconic looks for Beyoncé during her Cowboy Carter and Renaissance Tours. At Karl: The Art of Fashion in San Francisco, Brandin selected Irina to embody one of his signature silhouettes - a performance that electrified the runway and proved that California shows can rival any international stage in creativity and prestige.

Irina also walked for West Coast Leather, the legendary San Francisco brand whose handcrafted leather pieces have dressed Britney Spears, Cher, Elton John, Cindy Crawford, Alice Cooper, and countless others. Founded in 2003 with roots in the historic North Beach Leather tradition, the brand continues to define West Coast style. Irina appeared in a key runway show for the label and additionally participated in a professional photoshoot for the brand’s social media campaigns, highlighting her versatility and the prestige of California’s craftsmanship.

Another remarkable collaboration was with Đỗ Trịnh Hoài Nam, one of the most renowned designers of traditional Vietnamese fashion worldwide. The designer traveled to California specifically to showcase his collection at events organized by VNARP, the Vietnamese-American professional association based in California that promotes cultural exchange, business, and fashion programs. Irina served as his muse twice, transforming each look into a living narrative that celebrated heritage and modern couture.

Additionally, Irina Lanskaia modeled for Altana Danzhalova, a California-based designer whose handcrafted artistry and timeless elegance define her collections. Born and raised in Siberia, Altana brings a unique perspective to fashion with flowing lines, vibrant colors, and personal expression. Although Irina walked for her in New York, their creative connection began in California, highlighting the state’s role as a hub where local innovation meets the global fashion scene.

Other California designers - including Single Tree Lane, Jean Amour, Joanna Jia, Beat J Collection, Perry White, The House of Rose, Mariya Milovidova, and Marianna Sadie — are gaining recognition in the fashion community, and their collections reflect the Golden State’s creativity, craftsmanship, and style. Many of these designers are making an impact at fashion weeks across the globe, including Paris, Milan, New York, and London. Irina has had the privilege of walking for these designers at prominent California runway events, bringing poise, presence, and storytelling to each show.

Through these collaborations, Irina showcases the depth and vibrancy of California’s fashion scene. The state is not merely a waypoint for international shows; it is home to visionary designers, world-class craftsmanship, and a thriving runway culture - and Irina is proving herself as the model who brings it all to life.
